From the Tech Lockdown dashboard, members can customize Device Configuration Profiles. When installed on your device, these profiles reliably protect certain settings. The main use-case for these profiles is to protect content filtering from being bypassed and to enforce native restrictions (like which apps can be downloaded).
Device Configuration Profiles can be installed on both Mac devices and Supervised iPhones.
Device Configuration Profiles on iPhones and iPads
A prerequisite for Config Files on iPhones is that your iPhone needs to be supervised. Use this article to learn more about enabling Supervised Mode.
Once supervised mode is enabled, here are Config Presets you can install:
- Built-in Adult Content Filter: Enforces Apple's built-in content filtering for most adult websites. Can be used in addition to a SafeSearch rule to force SafeSearch on most web browsers. Learn more about SafeSearch rules here.
- Prevent Deleting Apps: Prevents all apps, including the filtered VPN app, from being deleted from your iPhone.
- Prevent Adding New Apps: Prevents new apps from being downloaded from the App Store. Current apps stay updated.
- Restrict New VPNs: Removes the ability to add new, potentially conflicting VPN profiles on your iPhone.
- Prevent Turning Off Wi-Fi: Prevent the option to switch to cellular while at home. This is most useful if you've connected your home router to your Content Policy too.
- Enforce Cloudflare VPN: Prevents the VPN profile used to connect your iPhone to your Content Policy from being deleted.
Additionally, you can also configure your own App Blocklists. Learn more here.
Access both Config Preset and App Management tools on the Tech Lockdown dashboard by going to Tools > iPhone.
