For up-to-date instructions for connecting your iPhone or iPad to the Content Policy, we highly recommend using the installation wizard we provide in your Tech Lockdown account dashboard. It will walk you through the installation process.
You can use this tutorial for additional reference.
There are two main options you can consider to connect your iPhone to the Content Policy:
- Sign in with your email using the filtered VPN App
- Enforce DNS Settings with Supervised Mode
VPN App
The recommended way to connect is to install an app that configures a VPN on your device. During the setup process, you will be asked to provide an email address and your Content Policy's Team Name, both of which are provided for you to copy and paste if you use our Connect Wizard under Content Policy > Connect Devices > iPhone.
Because you're required to log in with an email address, you can use the audience feature on a rule to target your device, which means that you could create a rule that applies to your devices only.
Since the Content Policy has an integration with Cloudflare, we will use the Cloudflare One app to set up the VPN connection. To get started, open the Cloudflare One App Store page on your iPhone or scan the QR code below to quickly open the store page:

- Log in with your Team Name (also known as the Organization Name) when prompted.
This is listed if you're using the Connect wizard on the dashboard.

A web page should open. Enter the email address of the member you want to sign in on this device.

Copy the code that was sent to your email and enter it into the app

After you've entered your code, the Cloudflare One app will have set up a VPN profile on your device that manages your iPhone's connection to the Content Policy. Take your blocking system a step further by protecting this connection.
DNS Settings
DNS Settings are an alternative way to connect an iPhone to your Content Policy. It's generally more compatible with older models of devices or on networks that block VPN connections. However, it does have an important tradeoff in that you can't target your iPhone using your Content Policy with this approach. If this is important to you, you will need to consider the VPN App approach instead.
However, that DNS Settings may still have a place in your Blocking System even if you've set up the filtered VPN and protected it. If you've enabled Supervised Mode on your iPhone (or iPad), DNS settings can be enforced on your iPhone so that it's impossible to disable. That means it's a very powerful way to enforce your iPhone's connection to your Content Policy.
