We recommend using the Installation wizard we provide in your Tech Lockdown account dashboard. It will walk you through the installation process.
You can use this tutorial for additional reference.
VPN App
The recommended way to connect is to install an app which configures a VPN on your device. This app can be found on the App Store under the name of Cloudflare One. Full instructions to install and connect can be found on the Tech Lockdown dashboard by going to Content Policy > Connect Devices > Android.
- Open the Cloudflare One App Google Play Store page or scan the QR code below to open the play store page:
- Enter your Cloudflare Team name when prompted (this is provided in our installation wizard)
- Enter the email you want to sign in with. This will be your Tech Lockdown account email or one of the member emails associated with your Tech Lockdown account.
- Enter the code sent to your email
DNS Settings
DNS settings on your smartphone can be configured to point to your Content Policy. In order to do this, you should have already linked a router.
Note that this is optional.
- Open one of your linked routers in the Tech Lockdown dashboard so that you can see the connection information
- On your Android device, open Settings and search for "Private DNS":
- Tap on Private DNS to pull up the customization menu.
- Choose Private DNS provider hostname.
- Enter the DNS over TLS hostname listed on by the Router added to your Tech Lockdown dashboard. This should be found under Connection Information.
DoH and DoT hostnames should be found under Connection Information. You will only need to use the DNS over TLS for your Android smartphone.
