Add a secondary email address to your Tech Lockdown profile to improve accountability and transparency. If a secondary email is added to your account, you can:
- Require a pin sent to the secondary email in order to unlock your profile.
- Optionally, enable emailed notifications when you make certain changes (like locking or unlocking your profile)
- Recover a forgotten profile locking passcode.
Add a Secondary Email to your Profile
We recommend using an Accountability Partner's email. Use this guide for our recommendations on creating and securing a secondary email if you do not have an accountability partner.
- In the Tech Lockdown Dashboard, click your profile icon > Lock Profile.
- Under Secondary Email, choose Add Email
- Enter your secondary email
- Check the secondary email's inbox for a verification code
- Enter the verification code to finish verifying your secondary email address
Note: You may need to double-check your email's spam folder.
Enable additional enable notifications for profile changes
Additional email notifications can be sent to the secondary email when you make changes to your profile. This can aid in accountability by notifying someone if you re-locked a profile or when you unlocked a profile to make changes to your Tech Lockdown account.
To enable extra notifications:
- Go to your Tech Lockdown Profile > Lock Profile
- Under Secondary Email, enable Email Notifications
Types of Email Notifications
A secondary email address will receive certain notifications even if notifications are not enabled. If you enable notifications, additional emails will be sent regarding changes to your profile.

- Request a pin to recover a forgotten profile locking passcode
