The Device Config Generator creates config files that can be added to a Supervised iPhone or iPad. Config files must be manually installed whenever there are new changes that need to be added.

Step 1: Download the Config File

1. You can download the config file from the Device Config Generator by clicking the Sync to Device button.
   
2. Your options will depend on the device you are using to make changes in the config editor.

(A) Scan QR Code

If you are using a Mac or Windows computer to edit your iPhone config, this will be the recommended download option presented to you.

The easiest way to download the Config file to your iPhone is by scanning the QR code.

1. Open the camera app on your iPhone (or iPad), then point it at the QR code on your computer, or
2. On your iPhone, select the link from the camera app.
3. Tap Allow when you get a message telling you that a Config File is being downloaded
4. You should get a message saying that a profile has been downloaded.
5. Proceed to Step 2 and install the Config File.

(B) Direct Download

Another way to get the config file on to your device is through direct download.

Here are some of the other ways you can directly download a Config File:

• Download the Config File directly on your iPhone: Sign into the Tech Lockdown dashboard using your iPhone and download the file directly from the config editor.
• Download & Share
  • Airdrop the Config File to your iPhone: Download the file to your Mac computer, then Airdrop the Config file to your iPhone.
  • Send the Config File via Email: Download the file on your Windows device, then email it to yourself.

You'll know that your download was successful if you see the "Profile Downloaded" popup below:

Proceed to Step 2 to install the Config File.

Step 2: Install the Config File

Open the Settings app on your iPhone.

You should see an option near the top that says "Profile Downloaded". Open this option:

Tap on Install near the top:

Enter your iPhone's passcode:

Tap Install again:

Confirm installation:

Your Config should be installed. Tap Done:

You will see a list of currently installed config files, including the one you just downloaded.

Frequently Asked Questions

I installed the Config File, but it's not working.

Config Files cannot be used correctly on a standard iPhone device. You will need to supervise your iPhone in order to correctly use the Config Files.
