The Device Config Generator creates and helps you sync Device Config Files to your Mac or supervised iPhone. These Config Files enforce restrictions, prevent bypass, block website URLs, or even restrict browser features on compatible devices.
The Device Config Generator can be accessed under Device Configs on the dashboard.
Customizing and Saving Changes to Your Device Configs
The Device Config Editor allows you to make and save changes to your Device Configs.
If you have unsaved changes, you'll see the Save Changes button active on the bottom right of your screen.
Saved changes persist even after you log out of the dashboard, but won't affect your devices until you sync the Config to your Device.
Syncing Config Files to your Devices
After saving all changes, select the Sync to Device button near the top right.
Device Config Files are then generated and downloaded to your device. You can choose to download and send the files manually or by scanning a QR code.
Follow the instructions on the dashboard to fully sync changes to your devices.
Restricting Removal of Device Config Files
Make sure you have the Device Config Generator open.
Enable Removal Protection
Under Config Preferences, set up Removal Protection for your Config File.
You can choose to set your own PIN or have the dashboard generate a random one you can't guess for you.
Enable Profile-Locking Restrictions
It is possible to keep certain settings restricted behind profile locking on your Tech Lockdown account. This needs to be enabled using Editor Preferences:
Access Editor Preferences near the top right of the Editor, like this:
