You're able to use the Tech Lockdown dashboard to easily see Traffic Logs collected by Cloudflare by going to Activity > Traffic Logs.
Similar to viewing browser history, use the Traffic Logs page to see DNS logs for devices connected to Cloudflare.
The DNS Log Viewer
The DNS Log Viewer is used to view and group recent DNS Traffic Logs.
Log Web Traffic must be enabled to store DNS Logs; manage your Activity preferences to ensure logging is enabled.
You can filter and sort the DNS Log view to gather more information about the activity collected.
Information Collected
Traffic Logs can store useful data for monitoring account activity. Each log entry can be expanded to display this information:
Activity is only able to collect the following information from your devices:
- Which Domain and Hostname were accessed.
- What Action was taken by your Content Policy (Blocked, Allowed, SafeSearch)
- What Time the domain was accessed.
- The Content Category of the domain.
- Whether the domain is associated with an App, and if so, which one.
If a rule is blocked or has SafeSearch enabled, you can open the rule responsible on your Content Policy:
Information Not Collected
Activity does not collect the following information:
- How long a website or domain was visited: For example, how long an app was used or a webpage opened.
- Specific web pages within a website. For example, you won't be able to see specific Google searches, but you will be able to see whether someone used Google Search and whether SafeSearch was enabled correctly.
Filtering and Sorting DNS Logs
You can view DNS Logs collected up to the last 48 hours. By default, the list will be filtered by requests in the last hour.
You can change how your logs are sorted using the filter options at the top of the list.
You can sort Traffic Logs by:
- Count: Sort logs by the number of times it was accessed.
- Time: Sort logs sorted in order of time.
- Application: Sort logs associated with the selected app.
DNS Logs can be filtered by:
- Action: View logs that were blocked, allowed, or had SafeSearch enabled.
- Category: View logs that match specific content categories.
DNS Logs can also be searched by their full Hostname.
