You'll need to generate certificates in order to view the block page on your devices. Fortunately, you can do this from the Tech Lockdown dashboard easily using our interactive Wizard.
Use the wizard by going to Device Setup. You'll need to install the Certificate onto each of your devices manually by completing the wizard associated with your device type (Windows, Mac, Android, or iPhone).
If you've never used certificates before, the setup wizard will generate a new certificate for you and correctly activate it.
To see current Certificates settings, go to Settings > Certificates.
In order for the Block Page to work, the following must be true:
- A certificate must be both "Active" and "In Use" on the dashboard. You can only have one certificate "In Use" at a time. If you're using the setup wizard, the dashboard handles this automatically for you.
- This certificate must be installed onto your devices.
Certificates must be installed in order to use the block page. Click download and choose which type of device you have from the menu. For a summary of the required steps for each device, choose from the list below:
- Install Certificates on Mac
- Install Certificates on Windows
- Install Certificates on iPhone
- Install Certificates on Android
Deleting Certificates
If a certificate is marked as both "ACTIVE" and "IN USE", it can't be deleted or turned off. You will need to renew it / replace it with a new certificate.
To delete an old certificate:
- Click the options next to the old Certificate and Deactivate it.
- Delete the Certificate.
Note: If a certificate is replaced with a new one on the dashboard, you will need to install the newer version of the certificate onto your devices for the block page to continue to work.
Renew Certificates
If your certificate is about to expire, you can replace it/renew it by following these steps:
- Go to Settings > Certificates
- Click Add New Certificate
- Turn On the certificate with the oldest expiration date (this is the newest one you just created)
- Deactivate the certificate with the closest expiration date (this is the one that's about to expire)
- Delete the certificate with the closest expiration date (certificates must be deactivated in order to be deleted)
Certificates are valid for 5 years.
