Uninstall the Cloudflare One app on your Android smartphone or tablet to disconnect it from your Content Policy.
If you've taken the proper precautions to protect your connection on an Android smartphone or tablet, it's important to follow the correct procedure to fully remove all tools used to enforce that connection.
If your Android device is managed, you will need to undo restrictions first.
If your Android Device is Managed...
Remove any restrictions that:
- Prevent Apps from being deleted.
- Lock the VPN.
- Enforce Private DNS (if you've connected your smartphone to your Content Policy manually).
In some cases, it may be easier to unmanaged your Android device by revoking Admin access.
Disconnect your Android Smartphone
Follow these steps to fully disconnect your smartphone:
Step 1: Uninstall the Cloudflare One App
Various smartphone manufacturers may have slightly different options for how to do this, but generally:
- Find the App in your App Library or on the Home Screen.
- Tap and hold on the App icon.
- Choose Delete and confirm you'd like to delete the app.
Step 2: Confirm Network Settings are Reset
If you'd connected your Android device to your Content Policy using Private DNS, you will need to remove the address you'd previously entered:
- Ensure any restrictions that prevent changes to Private DNS settings are disabled.
- Open your Settings app and search for "Private DNS".
- Remove the Private DNS address added.
Confirm Filtering is Removed
Verify your Connection to Cloudflare and ensure that your ISP's servers are listed instead of Cloudflare.
