There are several ways to block apps on computers and smartphones. If the app you're trying to block is connected to the internet, then you can use your Content Policy to prevent the app from working. Another option is native application blocking where the app is blocked from being opened on the device entirely.
Content Policy DNS App Rule
You can block a specific Apps connection to the internet using your Content Policy.
Adding an App to a Block rule won't prevent the app from being downloaded or installed onto your device. Instead, that app will be disconnected from the internet.
- Block categories of apps using DNS categories
- Block specific apps by specifying a DNS app

Native Application Blocking
In addition to the Content Policy, it's possible to completely prevent an app from being opened or downloaded on to the device in the first place.
iPhone/iPad
Tech Lockdown provides two ways to block apps on iOS:
- Disable internet-dependent apps by specifying DNS categories or DNS apps to block using your Content Policy
- Customize an App Policy on iOS to natively restrict apps (prevent them from being downloaded and opened)
