There are two versions of the Cloudflare application that connect your device to your Content Policy, depending on which device type you're using:
- The Cloudflare Warp Application for both Windows and Mac computers
- The Cloudflare One App for iPhone, iPad, or Android smartphones.
This article covers the most commonly asked questions for troubleshooting both Cloudflare One and the Cloudflare Warp application.
How to open the Cloudflare Warp application on devices
On Windows computers, access Warp from your taskbar like this:
On Mac computers, access Warp near the top right like this:
On both iPhone and Android smartphones, open the Cloudflare One App to view client status.
Slow Internet or Broken Apps While Using Warp
In most cases, we recommend switching to DNS only mode to fix the issue. To do this, go to Settings > App Preferences on the Tech Lockdown dashboard and set Filtering Mode to "DoH (DNS only)". Click Save Changes to automatically apply settings to devices that have connected with the Cloudflare application.
You could optionally choose to allow switching between full VPN (also called WARP) mode and DNS only by enabling Allow Switching Modes.
You might need to switch to DNS only mode if:
- If you're using an older device, as full VPN encryption could drain battery or affect device performance.
- The Wi-Fi or wired network your device is connected to blocks VPN connections. You might run into this issue if connected to some public Wi-Fi networks.
