There is an issue on Apple devices where Apple Screen Time can sometimes override web content filtering rules managed by the device config generator. The fix for this is to disable the conflicting Screen Time setting, then restrict access to Screen Time completely.
1) Disable Screen Time Content & Privacy Settings Completely
Disable the conflicting Screen Time configuration on your Mac so that Screen Time is managed by your device config.
- Open the System Settings app on your Mac
- Go to the Screen Time Section > Content & Privacy
- Turn off Content & Privacy
2) Restrict Screen Time Access
To prevent Content & Privacy from being re-enabled in the future, we recommend disabling Screen Time access to prevent future conflicts with your device config.
- Go to the device config editor for your Mac and disable the option "Allow Access to Screen Time in System Settings
- Reinstall the Config File on your Mac computer to sync these changes. See Installing Device Config on Mac for more information.
- You will need to quit and re-open the settings panel to see that Screen Time cannot be accessed anymore
