If you are attempting to install a config on your Mac and get a profile installation failed error like this:
Profile installation failed.
The 'Restrictions' payload could not be installed. One or more keys in the payload must be installed in a device profile, not a user profile.
This error started appearing on MacOS 26.0 as Apple has started enforcing that certain restrictions are installed on the device-level (restrictions impact all users on the Mac, not just the current user who is signed in).
If you recently upgraded to MacOS 26.0 and had a config installed prior to that upgrade, you'll need to upgrade to our new device-level configs that set the scope of the restrictions to the entire device, not just the current user.
