Find a Browser Extension ID

In order to block or whitelist a browser extension, you'll need to get the extension ID. The easiest way to get these IDs is to search a compatible browser extension store based on the web browser you are using.

1) Choose a Compatible Browser Extension Store

• If you are using any of these browsers: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Brave Browser, then the Chrome Web Store is compatible.
• Browser Extensions from Microsoft Edge can be added from both the Microsoft Edge store or Chrome Web Store. 
• Browser Extensions for Mozilla Firefox are added from the Firefox Add-on Store.

2) Find the Extension ID in the Browser Extension Store

Chrome and Microsoft Edge Store

1. For Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Brave Browser, visit your browser's extension store and find your extension.
2. Take a look at the URL. At the very end of the long address, you should see a forward slash followed by a long string of letters. This is the extension ID. 

Firefox Add-ons

Firefox requires more effort to find the exact extension ID. It's not included in the URL like it is in the Chrome or Edge webstores.

1. Click to download the official queryamoid Firefox add-on. This is used to displaw the Add-on ID in the Firefox Add-on store.
2. Add the extension when prompted
3. Navigate to Firefox Add-ons and search for the add-on you want to get the ID fo
4. In the top corner, click the extensions icon
5. Click the Query AMO Addon ID item
6. Click the first Copy button to copy the extension ID
