In order to block or whitelist a browser extension, you'll need to get the extension ID. The easiest way to get these IDs is to search a compatible browser extension store based on the web browser you are using.
1) Choose a Compatible Browser Extension Store
- If you are using any of these browsers: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Brave Browser, then the Chrome Web Store is compatible.
- Browser Extensions from Microsoft Edge can be added from both the Microsoft Edge store or Chrome Web Store.
- Browser Extensions for Mozilla Firefox are added from the Firefox Add-on Store.
2) Find the Extension ID in the Browser Extension Store
Chrome and Microsoft Edge Store
- For Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Brave Browser, visit your browser's extension store and find your extension.
- Take a look at the URL. At the very end of the long address, you should see a forward slash followed by a long string of letters. This is the extension ID.
Firefox Add-ons
Firefox requires more effort to find the exact extension ID. It's not included in the URL like it is in the Chrome or Edge webstores.
- Click to download the official queryamoid Firefox add-on. This is used to displaw the Add-on ID in the Firefox Add-on store.
- Add the extension when prompted
- Navigate to Firefox Add-ons and search for the add-on you want to get the ID fo
- In the top corner, click the extensions icon
- Click the Query AMO Addon ID item
- Click the first Copy button to copy the extension ID
