Config Presets are an older way of managing apps and features on a supervised iPhone or Mac computer. Here's how to remove and uninstall them from your device.
Uninstalling Config Files requires that your Tech Lockdown profile be unlocked.
- Ensure your Tech Lockdown profile is unlocked before proceeding.
1) Access Uninstall Wizard
- On the Tech Lockdown dashboard, go to Tools > Mac > Config Presets > Uninstall.
You should see a full list of all Config Presets. If your Tech Lockdown profile is unlocked, you can copy and paste the passcodes for each preset.
2) Remove Config Presets
- On your Mac computer, open System Settings from the taskbar:
- Search for "profile" and open Device Management (you can also navigate to this directly by going to General > Device Management).
- Next, click on the Config you'd like to remove. You should see it highlighted like this:
- Next, press the Delete key on your Mac. You could instead click the Minus symbol near the bottom:
- Confirm that you'd like to delete the Config by clicking Remove:
3) Enter Config Password (if needed)
If you've enabled the Uninstall Prevention feature when you first downloaded the Config from Tech Lockdown, you'll now need to copy-paste the removal password from the dashboard.
- Enter the passcode associated with your Config File from the Tech Lockdown dashboard. Passcodes can be found by going to Tools > Mac > Config Presets > Uninstall.
