If you want to remove restrictions on an iPhone or iPad that has a config file installed, you can follow these uninstall instructions.
Step 1: Access Uninstall Instructions
Full instructions for uninstalling your Config File are available on the dashboard. Access them by choosing the Uninstall option:
If you've set Editor Preferences to restrict changes to your Device Config while your profile is locked, you may need to unlock your profile to access and complete the instructions.
Step 2: Open Settings
- Open Settings on your iPhone:
- Go to General:
- Scroll down and select VPN & Device Management:
Step 3: Remove the Device Config
Download the removable version of your Device Config using the dashboard by going to Device Config > iOS config > Uninstall.
- Install the removable version of your Device Config on your iPhone.
- Open it by tapping on it, then choose Remove Profile:
Frequently Asked Questions
What if I can't scan the QR Code?
In some cases, you might have restrictions enforced that prevent the camera or a web browser from being enabled. If that's the case, you still have other ways to download the profile onto your iPhone or iPad:
- Download the Config File on your Mac, then use AirDrop to download the file to your iPhone.
- Email or text yourself the Config File.
If you're still unable to uninstall the profile, contact us.
How do I remove older Config Presets from my iPhone?
- Go to Tools > iPhone > Config Presets on the dashboard.
- Untoggle the "Uninstall Prevent" switch on step 1.
- Reinstall the Config Preset installed on your iPhone for step 2.
- Follow the instructions for step 3 and beyond to reinstall the removable Config Preset.
- Remove the Config Preset on your iPhone.
- Repeat these steps for each Config Preset on your iPhone.

Restrictions are still enabled after removing the Device Config
Some restrictions require a full device reset to update restrictions on your iPhone.
